Why Get a Utility Vest:
If you don't already have a military or utility vest I highly recommend you get one. They're actually very versatile and the one I'm wearing is only $30! I went for a lightweight one considering the weather is about to heat up here in Vegas. I love layering, but in the summer that can be difficult. I find that vests are a great way to get that layered look without burning up like I would in a blazer or cardigan. I'm getting overheated just thinking about it. I don't care who you are... humans should not live in 115 degree weather. Maybe it'll be a mild summer though right? A girl can dream.
Other Style Options:
I chose to wear my vest with leather skinnies and a white blouse, but there are a lot of other options as well. You could also wear it over a casual spring or summer dress paired with some sneakers or sandals. For instance, if you have a striped dress... I think it would look great over top of it! I also like a utility vest belted over a skater skirt and tee.
Color Pairing Recommendations:
With army greens, I would recommend khaki, navy, and burnt orange. For fall it looks great with burgundy. And for some extra fun - try peach, pink or purple! As for prints, try leopard or stripes.
